Coupe Uefa 1980 1981 Final Ipswich Town AZ Alkmaar
Mai 1985

Arsenal, though strong favourites, soon began to lose their grip on the game after a promising start had seen them gain two corners in the first two minutes. Some of Ipswich's combined movements were a delight to watch, as they gradually overran Arsenal's midfield.Poor Liam Brady, obviously not fully fit, could do nothing right and was substituted after 66 minutes.

UEFA European Cup 1980 1981 Ipswich Town Widzew Lodz
Third Round First Leg
Portman Road, Ipswich
26th November 1980
26th November 1980
Wednesday, March 24, 2021

This match, which dates back to 1980, featured an Ipswich side a million miles from the one that exists today. They had recently won the FA Cup, were often in the top four and would very soon go on to life the UEFA Cup, and that actually meant something back then. Still, 6-0 is a hell of a beating, especially when you count the number of penalties young Gary Bailey saves (it’s more than one).
