Liverpool Season Review 2010 2011
Liverpool fans were subjected to one of the most bamboozling rollercoaster rides in their club's history lost season. At its nadir, the Gillett and Hicks regime seemed to be dragging the Reds toward administration, while on the pitch Roy Hodgson was unable to reverse the gloom and the side dipped into the relegation zone. But October brought fresh ownership ond January the return of Kop deity Kenny Dalglish, while the arrivals of Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez compensated for Fernando Torres' moody exit. Summer recruits Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam will only add to this optimism, but Amid such a maelstroem, it's hard to gauge exactly where Liverpool are football-wise. One thing's for certain, though: the horrors of 2010 are a distant memory. Fans and owners expecting a title tilt despite finishing sixth last season. Much is being made of the fact that since Dalglish's re-appointment, only Manchester United clocked up more league points. And while Liverpool were once heavily reliant on Steven Gerrard and Torres to win, they now have a wedith of offensive options as a team capable of a top-four finish.

Everton Season Review 2010 2011
Nowhere is there a greater sense of permanence in the Premier League than at Goodison Pork. David Moyes, nine years since taking over as boss, was able to select Tim Howard, Leighton Baines and Sylvain Distin to start every league game last term, with the two Phils, Neville and Jagielka, both starting over 30. While this stability is no bad thing, in a way it highlights one of the club's biggest problems - a wafer-thin playing squad that is largely a mixture of senior players the wrong side of 30 and relatively inexperienced youngsters. You'd probably expect a club with such a season strongly before eventually fading away, but in the last two campaigns Everton have done the exact opposite, twice finding themselves deep in the bottom half at Christmas before eventually surging up to respectable finishes by springtime. If Everton were able to maintain the kind of form they have shown over the second half of the last two seasons then they will be on to a winner.

Chaque 23 avril à Barcelone, on vend des livres dans la rue, avec une rase rouge offerte à chaque acheteur . Roberto Di Matteo aurait bien aimé profiter de la tradition pour y trouver le manuel qui donne la recette pour éliminer de la Ligue des champions le Barça de Pep Guardiola. Mais seul José Mourinho le possède (2). Et puis le manager par intérim des Blues sait qu'il n'est pas attendu avec des fleurs ce soir au Camp Nou, toujours sous le choc de la soirée de samedi, quand il a été transformé en « Camp Mou »...

Il y aura de la revanche dans l'air mercredi à Stamford Bridge lorsque Chelsea et Barcelone se retrouveront face à face en demi-finale aller de la Ligue des champions pour la première fois depuis le duel controversé, gagné in extremis par les Catalans il y a trois ans. Une grande partie des acteurs de ce remake très attendu sont les mêmes qu'en 2009, en particulier Andres Iniesta, auteur du but de la qualification (1-1) à la dernière seconde, et Didier Drogba, suspendu trois matches pour s'en être pris à l'arbitre qui avait, selon les Londoniens, oublié de siffler plusieurs penalties en leur faveur.

McGuinness was given the title of manager of Manchester in August 1970, but the change did not help the team. It was impossible for the youthful McGuinness to match Busby's eminence. Some of the players viewed McGuinness as an equal, if that, and he struggled to Command respect. United's league form sank back into mediocrity from the start of the 1970/71 season and McGuinness was relieved of his job in December. He had done his best in difficult circumstances and his demotion back to reserve team coach wasacruel blow for a man who had always strived to do his best for the club in any capacity. It was too much for McGuinness. a loyal servant and supporter of United, to endure and he quit the club in February 1971. He said,'For 18 years I have been devoted to United. Now I must find a future away from Old Trafford' That future took him first to Greece, with coaching spells at Aris Salonika and Panaraiki Patras, before he came back to England to manage York City. He also held staff jobs at Hull and Bury. Busby resumed full control of the team and results picked up enough to guarantee another safe mid-table finish, but there was little sign of progress on the field. United looked a world away from challenging for major honours.
