Ghanaian forward Ibrahim Sadiq produced a stellar performance on Thursday evening, scoring twice to inspire AZ Alkmaar to a commanding 4-1 victory over Bulgarian side Levski Sofia in the Europa Conference League playoffs. Sadiq wasted no time making his mark, opening the scoring in the 3rd minute with a clinical finish. Just three minutes later, Mexx Meerdink extended the lead for the Dutch club after being set up by Mees de Wit. The former FC Nordsjaelland star doubled his tally before halftime, completing a sensational brace that underlined his fine run of form, having now scored in three consecutive matches for AZ. Levski Sofia briefly threatened a comeback early in the second half when Everton Bala pulled one back in the 46th minute. However, AZ restored their dominance late on, with Lequincio Zeefuik sealing the emphatic win in the 86th minute. The result saw AZ Alkmaar advance comfortably to the group stage with a 6-1 aggregate triumph, with Sadiq emerging as a key figure in their European campaign.
