Les États-Unis ont rejoint les quarts de finale de la Gold Cup en battant le Canada 1-0, dimanche à Kansas City, avec un but inscrit après 20 secondes de jeu seulement, le plus rapide de leur histoire. Shaquell Moore a marqué ce but, son tout premier en équipe nationale, en reprenant parfaitement un centre à ras de terre de Sebastian Lletget, et l'équipe américaine a conservé cet avantage jusqu'à la fin du match, finissant ainsi en tête du groupe B de la compétition-reine de la Confédération d'Amérique du Nord, d'Amérique centrale et des Caraïbes.
The United States national team is the winner of Group B after defeating Canada 1-0 in Matchday 3 of the Gold Cup 2021 group stage. A lone goal from Shaq Moore was enough for The Stars and The Stripes to reclaim the three points. The USMNT struck first when Shaq Moore scored only 30 seconds into the match. However, not everything was good news for the Americans, as Walker Zimmerman had to leave the pitch after a collision with Richie Laryea. Canada didn’t give up, and tried to tie the match. Tyler Buchanan was the most creative of Canada, but his efforts didn’t result. John Herdman’s team also had trouble with the injuries, as Ayo Akiola and Cyle Larin had to leave the pitch.
