Sundowns ended SuperSport's record of 11 matches undefeated and derailed their quest of winning the Diski Challenge. Wonderkid Syabonga Mabena played a sterling role in ensuring that Sundowns got maximum points on the day. Mabena provided two assists to Jerome Karelse, who scored a brace on the day, taking his tally to 16 goals this season. He then dominated SuperSport players in the midfield, and they could not launch a comeback. Despite the defeat, SuperSport remain at the top of the log with a point separating them from second-placed Cape Town City.
