Bayern come into the second leg on home soil with a priceless 1-0 away win from the Giuseppe Meazza courtesy of Mario Gomez's late strike. However, Bayern are sure to still be smarting from last season's 2-0 final defeat to Inter at Santiago Bernabeu and the German outfit are unlikely to be happy unless they finish the job on Tuesday.
Inter must become only the second team in Champions League history to recover from a home defeat with an away win in the second leg if they are to maintain their interest in the competition. Inter are likely to be without Argentine striker Diego Milito, who also missed the first leg with a hamstring injury and defender Lucio is also doubtful. "We will have to look at Lucio's fitness in training later this evening. Not only Lucio's fitness but that of some other players as well," explained manager Leonardo.
On the last confrontation, Bayern goalkeeper Thomas Kraft stood tall and proud between the sticks until the Bavarians were able to capitalise on one of their many chances late in the game. Arjen Robben's low drive was spilled by Inter shot-stopper Julio Cesar and Mario Gomez was on hand to pounce on the rebound in injury time, giving the Germans a one-goal advantage heading into to the second leg at the Allianz Arena.
