Dynamo Kiev will be looking to continue their impressive home record in their first-ever clash with Manchester City on Thursday. The Ukrainian side have not lost in six home matches ahead of the Europa League, first leg fixture. As part of that sequence, the hosts have not conceded at the Lobanovskiy Stadium in their last three games. In contrast, City have gone three European away games without a win, following up a 3-1 defeat at Lech Poznan in the group stage with draws at Juventus and Aris Thessaloniki But on the plus side, Roberto Mancini's side head into the clash on the back of a six-match unbeaten run, the latest a 1-0 uccess over Wigan on Saturday.
Mancini will be without J. Milner for the clash in Ukraine. The midfielder has not travelled with the squad due to a hamstring injury, but international team-mate Shaun Wright-Phillips could come into contention after missing the last two games because of a back problem. N. De Jong, who has recovered from an injury, is pushing for his first start in over a month, but defender K. Toure is suspended indefinitely after failing a drugs test. For Dynamo, striker Andriy Shevchenko will be hoping to score against City again after facing the Blues twice during his time at Chelsea, featuring in 3-0 and 6-0 home wins, and notching in the latter.

Manchester City must overturn a two-goal deficit against Dynamo Kiev if they are to remain in the Europa League. A 2-0 defeat in Ukraine in the first leg of their last-16 tie has left the Blues with a tough ask in the return date at Eastlands. On a positive note for Roberto Mancini's side, they have fared admirably on home soil in continental competition. They have suffered just one defeat in 15 fixtures at Eastlands, with that solitary setback coming against FC Midtjylland in a Uefa Cup qualifier on 14th August 2008. City have also won their last three European games in front of their own supporters, scoring three times on each occasion. That is the challenge facing them again on Thursday, as they attempt to edge their way into the quarter-finals. Yuri Semin's Kiev will be no pushovers, though, despite their record against English opposition making for disappointing reading.he Ukrainian giants have never won in England, in nine attempts, while their last two visits to Manchester saw them fail to find the target against Sir Alex Ferguson's United. They have, however, won their last three games on the road in the Europa League and are now unbeaten in seven, since losing to FC Sheriff during the group stage.Manager Roberto Mancini has revealed Tevez is in need of a rest following his recent dip in form, but the Argentinian may have to wait for the international break with City needing to overturn a two-goal deficit this evening. Mancini said: “Carlos needs to work in the next week. In the last 45 days, it's been impossible. “If we have 20 or 23 players when we play four or five games in two weeks, we would be able to change six players every game. “We don't have that option and when you can't train it's difficult to keep the same level for one month or 45 days. That's the same for all the players.”
