Newly promoted side to the Nigeria Professional Football League, (NPFL) Sporting Lagos have emerged champions of the maiden edition of the Naija Super 8 competition after defeating Remo Stars on penalties in the final on Sunday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan Lagos. Sporting Lagos surprised many after gaining entry into the competition through wild card. The Lagos side won 4-2 in the shootout after both sides had played 1-1 at full time. Recall that Sporting Lagos also rallied from a goal down to beat Remo Stars 2-1 in their Naija Super 8 Group A encounter at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos on Tuesday.
