Alje Schut scored deep into stoppage time as Mamelodi Sundowns drew 1-1 with Maritzburg United. Jayiya was presented with the first opportunity of the game in the ninth minute, as he turned well on the edge of the area before firing straight at Thela Ngobeni. Anthony Laffor should have opened the scoring in the 23rd minute as he placed his shot wide of target from six-yards out after being picked out by Elias Pelembe. The home side went ahead in the 34th minuet through Heinrich Isaacks' close range finish, after the winger was teed up by Kurt Lentjies.

 

Jayiya should have doubled Maritzburg's lead minutes after the restart as blasted over from inside the area. Minutes later and Laffor came close to leveling matters as his long ramge strike was parried away by Virgil Vries. Lebohang Mokoena should have equalised in the 63rd minute but the winger failed to direct his header on target from six-yards out. Jayiya should added a second in stoppage but the winger blasted horribly wide of he did well to create space for himself. Alje Schut came to Sundowns rescue in the 95th minute as he headed home to salvage a point for the Brazilians.
