L'un des premiers gros chocs de la saison opposera Chelsea à Tottenham dès le week-end du 13 août. Le week-end du 17 septembre, Liverpool se rendra à Chelsea. Les deux chocs entre Liverpool et Manchester City auront lieu le week-end du 15 octobre à Anfield et du 1er à l'Ettihad. Tandis que les derbys entre Manchester City et United auront lieu les week-ends du 1er octobre à l'Ettihad et du 14 janvier à Old Trafford !

The 2022/23 Premier League campaign promises to be another enthralling rollercoaster for fans, with a mid-season World Cup unlikely to dampen the excitement. The new season naturally begins with high expectations for all 20 teams involved, with all the top-flight clubs likely to be dreaming more of title battles and European qualification than mid-table obscurity or a relegation scrap. While only a few teams will ultimately get to live out the glamour of pushing for the title, or competing in the top four race, there will regardless be plenty of attention on the sides promoted into the Premier League this season, with Fulham, Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest all back in the big time. The Premier League has been cruel to promoted sides in recent seasons, and all three newbies will have their work cut out to avoid an immediate return to the Championship come May.

Fulham secured an immediate return to the Premier League after slipping through the trap door in 2021 under Scott Parker. Marco Silva's arrival sparked them into life in 2021/22 with an incredible run of 23 games as leaders eventually paying dividends as they held off Bournemouth to seal the title. Silva opted against major changes within his squad, and relied on experience to power their promotion charge, with Tim Ream, Tosin Adarabioyo and Harrison Reed all playing key roles. Fabio Carvalho's move to Liverpool is a blow for Silva, after racking up 10 league goals and eight assists, but Aleksandar Mitrovic ultimately stole the show for Fulham. The Serbian's 43 league goals in 46 games set a new Championship top scorer record and whether he can covert that form into a Premier League impact will decide Fulham's fate.

Bournemouth's Premier League push was motivated by play-off heartbreak in 2021, as the Cherries ended a two-year stay outside of the top tier. They opted to make the bold choice of appointing Parker as their new boss, just days after his departure from Craven Cottage, and he picked up two points from two games against his former club in 2021/22. Despite missing out on top spot, Parker's charges eased to an automatic promotion spot, six points ahead of Forest.  Parker followed a similar pattern of relying on his relegated stars to bring them back to life with Jefferson Lerma and Philip Billing reigniting an excellent midfielder partnership. However, the two biggest successes came at both ends of the pitch for Parker with Dominic Solanke hitting the ground running with an impressive 29 Championship goals (only bettered by Mitrovic) and Republic of Ireland international Mark Travers keeping 20 clean sheets.

Forest were forced to battle through the Championship playoff lottery to earn their spot in the Premier League, as Fulham and Bournemouth pulled away to claim the top two places. A disastrous start of one point from their first seven league games saw the board replace manager Chris Hughton with Steve Cooper, and the former Swansea City manager transformed the club. Impressive FA Cup wins over Premier League duo Arsenal and holders Leicester City thrust Cooper's side into the limelight but their league form dipped slightly towards the end of last season to force a playoff finish. However, they held it together to secure a semifinal penalty shootout win over Sheffield United and then a narrow playoff final victory against Huddersfield Town. Forest's Premier League return is tinged with nostalgia for fans of a certain age, as the two-times European Cup winners were one of the original founding members of the league in 1992. They are now back after a 23-year exile. Cooper's main concern will be how much of their success last season was built on loan players, with Djed Spence, James Garner and Philip Zinckernagel all playing a key role last term, alongside Welsh hotshot Brennan Johnson. However, his recruitment has been aimed at giving them a fighting chance of survival, with £18 million ($21.8m) spent on defender Neco Williams from Liverpool, alongside Taiwo Awoniyi and Orel Mangala arriving from Bundesliga duo Union Berlin and Stuttgart respectively.

Manchester City will begin the defence of their Premier League title against West Ham on August 7, after the new season's fixtures were released in full. The season opener will involve Arsenal again as they travel to London rivals Crystal Palace. Newly promoted Bournemouth, Fulham and Nottingham Forest face Aston Villa, Liverpool and Newcastle United respectively. The Premier League will break for the World Cup on November 13 and resume on Boxing Day with Arsenal vs West Ham United and Leeds United vs Manchester City among the final fixtures. April 1 will see Man City host Liverpool in what could be a pivotal match in the Premier League title race.
