A season now half done has so far earned the ninth-place Wave a subpar grade in no small part because of stiffer competition. The Wave lost 2-1 Wednesday night due largely to NJ/NY Gotham scoring two fabulous goals despite having 12 players unavailable. Among those sidelined were three veterans who had accounted for 10 of the club’s 14 goals.
