The Buccaneers were looking to celebrate their 70th anniversary in style when they hosted the Brazilians in a league clash at Johannesburg Stadium in February 2008. Pirates brushed aside the reigning league champions 3-1 with Bennet Chenene, Excellent Walaza and Gilbert Mushangazhike scoring, while Peter Ndlovu netted Sundowns' goal.
