A-League United Round 2023 2024 Central Coast Mariners Melbourne Victory

After a series of missteps and limited success capitalising on the momentum generated by the Matildas and Socceroos on the global stage, the A-Leagues’ decision to follow the lead of the NRL and AFL with a single-city round is about to be put to the test. In their latest effort to generate hype among football fans who too often snub the top-tier national competitions, both domestic leagues descend on Sydney for Unite Round this weekend. Joining together in Sydney to play top tier football over three glorious days, the first Unite Round for the 2023/2024 season hosts all 24 teams from both the Liberty and Isuzu-UTE A-League competitions. With lots of activities for fans and Members to enjoy, and prizes up for grabs.

A late goal from Jing Reec has seen the Central Coast Mariners snatch a 1-1 draw with Melbourne Victory at Allianz Stadium. In a game short on clear-cut chances Daniel Arzani’s 33rd minute penalty gave Victory the lead on a warm afternoon at Allianz Stadium. The Mariners, playing for the first time without their former striker Marco Tulio, weren’t at their attacking best but grabbed an equaliser in the 89th minute thanks to a cool finish from substitute Jing Reec. The result moves Victory three points clear ahead of second placed Western Sydney Wanderers while Central Coast extend their unbeaten run to eight matches and sit fourth on the ladder.
