Golden Arrows registered their first win of the PSL season after a late winner by Olwethu Ncube saw them beat Richards Bay 2-1 in a KZN derby played at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
Ryan Moon opened the scoring for a dominant Arrows in the first half but Boikanyo Komane equalised for the hosts from the penalty spot after the interval before Ncube's late show. Both teams came into the contest looking for their first three points of the campaign after Arrows played to a 1-1 draw against Swallows and Richards Bay lost 2-0 to SuperSport United in Polokwane at the weekend. It was Abafana Bes'thende who started strongly with Angelo Van Rooi hitting the woodwork from a Moon cross on the half-hour.

It was however not long before the visitors took the lead when Moon pounced inside the box to finish following some erratic defending by the home side. Richards Bay were much better after the interval and were good value for their equaliser in the 85th minute when Komane converted from the spot after a foul in the penalty area. Just when it seemed the match was heading for a stalemate, Ncube popped up to bundle in a low cross that went in off the post. With two consecutive defeats to start the season the pressure is already mounting on Richards Bay head coach Kaitano Tembo as he aims to stop a winless streak of 17 matches dating back to the last campaign.
