Major League Soccer announced the schedule for First Kick 2011- their opening slate of Home Matches for the 2011 Season. For the third year in a row, the Major League Soccer season will begin at Seattle’s Qwest Field in front of a nationally televised crowd as Sounders FC hosts the 2010 Supporters Shield Champions, LA Galaxy, on March 15, 2011.   “Our team looks forward to playing the two division champions, Los Angeles and New York, in our first two games,” said Sounders FC head coach Sigi Schmid. “It’s a difficult task but we relish the opportunity.” The big surprise in the Sounders lineup is the inclusion of Steve Zakuani, who was thought to be regulated to the bench to continue recovering from a hip injury. The other big shock, of course, is the news that Swiss international Blaise Nkufo has parted ways with Seattle, effective immediately.
