After a poor and uncomfortable first quarter, Ajax took the lead when one purchase, Steven Bergwijn, served the other, Owen Wijndal, after a nice attack. The one taken over from AZ went to the ground after light contact, whereupon the arbiter pointed to the penalty spot and Tadic hit.  A few minutes later the ball was already in the net on the other side, when the Austrian champion simply cut through the defensive positions and Nicolás Capaldo was able to slide in at the far post – behind Perr Schuurs. Bergwijn showed Ajax the way to a new lead, with a flawless pass to Mohammed Kudus. The Ghanaian playmaker, who started as a false striker and makes a strong impression during the training camp, nodded the 1-2.

After the break, Kenneth Taylor, who again played a creditable game, seemed to decide the game with a slider. After a dozen substitutions in total, Sean Klaiber, who came in as central defender, made it exciting with a mistake, but Salzburg did not go further than Benjamin Sesko’s goal (2-3). Ajax is preparing for the football season in Bramberg in Austria all week. The training camp will be concluded on Saturday with a practice match against Europa League winner Eintracht Frankfurt. The national champion is about to complete three transfers, which means that the selection in Bramberg will probably be expanded this week.
