The Western Sydney Wanderers have been stunned at home by the Phoenix, with a brilliant Blake Powell scoring four of Wellington's goals in their 5-2 win.  Blake Powell executed a perfect hat-trick (header, left-foot, right-foot) inside the first 33 minutes to leave the high-flying Wanderers reeling.  "[I feel] relief, there's been a lot of pressure on me lately to score goals," Powell told Grandstand after the match. "I'm just glad I scored today, we won - that's the main thing, we won!
"We've been a bit disappointing the last two months, but it's all come together today and hopefully we can continue this."

The first goal was the result of a superb Thomas Doyle cross which Powell dispatched into the back of the net with a diving header. He followed that with a cracking effort from outside the box with his left to make it 2-0 before punishing goalkeeper Andy Redmayne for leaving his goal prematurely, chipping in from a tight angle wide on the right. He completed the one-man masterclass in the second term with another flying header to become the fifth player to notch four or more goals in the A-League - he joins Shane Smeltz, Alessandro Del Piero, Besart Berisha and Archie Thompson.

To the Wanderers' credit, they kept pushing forward during Powell's fireworks, but showed nowhere near the 24-year-old's composure in front of goal, until Mitch Nichols buried a spectacular goal of his own from long-range in the 73rd minute. The home side pulled another one back when Mark Bridge finally found the right finish after a host of missed chances, but the Phoenix had one goal left in them in the form of a Michael McGlinchey penalty. Jonathan Aspropotamitis of the Wanderers was sent off in conceding the late penalty, shown a straight red as the last defender. Western Sydney's loss means Brisbane Roar remain top of the table on 35 points after round 19.
