Liverpool U21s were thrashed 4-0 at home by PSV Eindhoven. The first goal came with Tai Abed played down the right wing up against James Norris, cutting inside the left-back and firing low into the bottom corner from range. PSV went 2-0 up after a pass out from Misciur under pressure, giving the ball away and allowing Jesper Uneken to add another before the break. Isaac Babadi added a third soon after the restart as Liverpool were easily cut open, and the fourth came as Michael Laffey scuffed his clearance and sent Uneken’s header into his own net.

The Premier League International Cup (PLIC) is part of the International Programme for the Professional Development Phase, involving the top 16 finishers in Premier League 2 against 16 invited international clubs in a season-long competition that runs alongside the league and domestic commitments that each club have. This is an Under-21 competition with clubs permitted to name three overage outfield players and one overage goalkeeper on their team sheet.The clubs are split into four groups of eight clubs, with four PL2 and four invited international clubs occupying each group. Each club play four group-stage games, with all games to only be played between PL2 and international clubs. The top two clubs from each group will proceed to the knockout stages and all participating PL2 clubs are to host the group-stage matches at either their main stadium or an approved alternative venue. The PLIC then proceeds to the quarter-final rounds contested by the eight clubs that proceeded through the group stages, followed by a semi-final and then a final to determine the champion. The semi-finals and final matches are to be hosted in the host club’s main stadium. In the knockout stages the matches are one-off matches, with extra-time and then penalties required if the match is level after 90 minutes.

La Premier League International Cup est une compétition annuelle d'équipes de moins de 23 ans d'Angleterre contre des équipes du même âge du reste de l'Europe. Fondée en 2014, elle propose une phase de groupes et des play-offs. La neuvième édition de la Premier League International Cup a lieu du 21 août 2024 au 22 janvier 2025 pour la phase de groupes.Seuls les clubs anglais reçoivent, et sont donc les seuls affichés dans le tableau suivant, mais l'ensemble des matchs est à retrouver dans le calendrier de la compétition.
