Rangers are one step closer to retaining the Cup after edging out Old Firm Celtic in a thoroughly entertaining semi final clash at Airdrie's Excelsior Stadium. After a goalless first half, the Hoops took the lead against the run of play, when Chloe Craig stepped up to open the scoring from the penalty spot after a handball from Kathy Hill. But Jo Potter's team showed their resolve to bounce back, when Hill atoned for her error by prodding home an equaliser from a goalmouth scramble. That goal got Rangers' tails up and they went onto complete the turnaround when om 80 minutes, Kirsty MacLean curled home a delightful effort from the edge of the area.

However, in her first game as Celtic boss, Elena Sadiku's side incredibly got themselves back on level terms when a dubious challenge from Tessel Middag allowed Craig to step up and convert again to make it 2-2. But as it turned out, the exhiliraing second half had one more surprise to throw up, when a clumsy foul from Celtic's Caitlin Hay handed Reo Hardy with a glorious chance to send her team into the final from 12 yards. The English forward did just that, with Rangers now awaiting the result of the Sunday's semi-final between Hibs and Partick Thistle to see who they will be facing in the showpiece final on Sunday, March 24.
