Nigeria suffered a second setback in four days to their hopes of competing at the 2026 World Cup after drawing 1-1 with Zimbabwe.Walter Musona scored direct from a free kick to put Zimbabwe ahead in the first half of the matchday two clash and Kelechi Iheanacho equalised midway through the second half.Last Thursday, Nigeria also had to come from behind to draw 1-1 at home against Lesotho, the lowest ranked of the six Group C teams.

Mahmoud “Trezeguet” Hassan scored twice as Egypt maintained their perfect start to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with a 2-0 away win against Sierra Leone in Liberia.Sierra Leone finished the match with just nine players on the field, as Tyrese Fornah and Abdul Kabia received red cards.Egypt sit atop Group A with an impeccable six points from two games, leading ahead of Burkina Faso, Guinea-Bissau, and Ethiopia, each having amassed only one point after one game.
