Le FC Barcelona n'a guère tremblé dans les frimas ukrainiens et se qualifie pour les demi-finales de l'UEFA Champions League avec un but de Lionel Messi en fin de première période.

Pour le FC Shakhtar Donetsk, la mission était donc vraiment impossible après le 5-1 encaissé au Camp Nou la semaine dernière au match aller. Pourtant, les joueurs de Mircea Lucescu ont utilisé la bonne méthode, bousculant l'arrière-garde espagnole d'entrée.

À la neuvième minute, Jadson pensait avoir marqué mais il voyait sa tentative repoussée par Víctor Valdés, le gardien du barça. Cette action allait donner le ton de la soirée. Et comme à l'aller, ce manque de réussite était puni par les champions 2009, juste avant la pause.Daniel Alves s'enfonçait côté droit pour servir Lionel Messi. Le Ballon d'Or élaborait un contrôle soyeux avant de marquer son neuvième but en dix matches de Champions League cette saison.

En seconde période, les champions d'Ukraine tentaient tout pour éviter la première défaite de leur histoire dans le Donbass Arena, après le premier revers en championnat subi ce week-end. Mais ils tombaient sur une équipe catalane qui leur confisquait le ballon.

Shakhtar Donetsk face an enormous mountain to climb in order to deny Barcelona a place in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. The two sides meet at the Donblass Arena on Tuesday in the second leg of their quarter-final tie, with Barca holding a 5-1 advantage from their Camp Nou meeting.The Ukrainian side's main focus will be on maintaining their 100 per cent home record in the competition this season, but a four-goal overhaul is likely to prove too much. However, that feat has been achieved before, and Shakhtar would become only the fourth club to cancel out such a deficit from a first-leg defeat in European competition. The Catalans, though, boast the tournament's joint-leading scorer in Lionel Messi, who has eight goals alongside Samuel Eto'o of Inter and Bayern Munich's Mario Gomez. Shakhtar's unbeaten European run actually stretches back to 12 games, but they have won just once in six attempts against Spanish opposition, which includes a defeat to Barcelona in October 2008.
