Nottingham Forest came from behind to beat Huddersfield Town and set up a home FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool. Tom Lees' opening goal came moments after Forest's Sam Surridge thought he had scored on his first start - only to be denied by an offside flag. Surridge's side-footed effort did draw his side level before Ryan Yates nodded home to complete the fight back. The Reds have not made the last eight of the FA Cup since 1996.
Forest were denied a dream start by the flag when Surridge latched onto Brennan Johnson's ball across the six-yard box. The striker was convinced the goal should have stood, but with no VAR it was, controversially, chalked off.

Lees then headed home in the 13th minute for Huddersfield, who made six changes from the side that beat Peterborough 3-0 in the league last Friday. It followed an unusual set-piece routine, where the players hung around at the back post before the corner was swung into the near post and Lees advanced to score with an emphatic header. Surridge, on loan from Stoke, got justice and his first goal for the club in the 29th minute when he fired a powerful shot past Jamal Blackman in the visiting goal. Yates then connected with James Garner's free-kick to turn things around and give Forest the lead eight minutes before half-time. Jordan Rhodes' entrance off the bench sparked Huddersfield for a late push as Danny Ward saw two efforts well saved by Ethan Horvath.

But Forest had great chances of their own and Manchester United loanee Garner and Djed Spence were wasteful with two of them. Huddersfield, who have not made the quarter-finals since 1972, were on an 18-game unbeaten run across all competitions and had knocked out Premier League Burnley in the third round. Although the prospect of a meeting with Liverpool was the big prize at stake, both sides are also pushing for promotion to the top flight. Forest are ninth - three points off the play-offs - and Huddersfield in second spot, so this was always going to be a hard-fought battle. Steve Cooper's side edged it in the end and will have no fear about facing Jurgen Klopp's men on 20 March at the City Ground, having already seen off Arsenal in round three and thrashed holders Leicester 4-1 in the fourth round. Forest are one of two Championship clubs left in the competition, with Middlesbrough hosting European champions Chelsea
