On 12 December, 1990, Real Madrid lifted their third Spanish Super Cup. The Whites were up against Barcelona and moved a step closer to winning the trophy in the first leg, which was played a week earlier at the Camp Nou. Our team won at the Barça stadium thanks to a goal from Míchel (0-1) The return leg was at the Santiago Bernabéu, where Alfredo Di Stéfano's side put on a dazzling display for the home fans and won the trophy after a convincing 4-1 scoreline. Butragueño bagged a brace and there were also goals from Hugo Sánchez and Aragón, the latter scoring a sensational goal from the halfway line to seal the rout.
