Kaide Gordon became the youngest player to score for Liverpool in the FA Cup as he netted a vital equaliser in the Reds' third-round tie against Shrewsbury Town on Sunday afternoon. The teenage forward produced a composed finish in the box from Conor Bradley's cross to level in the 34th minute shortly after Daniel Udoh gave the visitors a surprise lead at Anfield. Aged 17 years and 96 days, Gordon's goal saw him smash the record previously held by Sheyi Ojo, who scored against Exeter City aged 18 years and 215 days during a third-round replay in the 2015/16 season. The youngster was only making his second senior appearance for the Reds against League One side Shrewsbury after featuring in the Carabao Cup victory over Norwich in September.
He started Academy life with the U18s before making his U23s debut and scoring on his Premier League 2 debut away at Leicester City. Kaide normally plays on the right side of the attack and loves to take on defenders and provide assists. He made a senior debut in the Carabao Cup away at Norwich City in September 2021 and then signed his first professional contract with the club.
