Alors que Fulham débutait bien la rencontre, en ouvrant rapidement le score par l’intermédiaire d’Aleksandar Mitrovic (6’), un incident en tribune a obligé l’arbitre à renvoyer les deux équipes aux vestiaires dès la 16e minute. Un supporter a en effet fait un malaise en tribune, nécessitant l’intervention rapide du personnel médical. Face à la situation préoccupante, l’arbitre de la rencontre a décidé d’interrompre temporairement la rencontre et il a invité les deux équipes à quitter la pelouse d’Hammersmith End. Quelques minutes plus tard, Fulham a donné quelques nouvelles via son compte twitter officiel en précisant que « le supporter a été pris en charge et transféré à l’hôpital ». Le match a pu reprendre après plus de 30 min d’arrêt et le club local a précisé qu’il fournira plus d’informations concernant l’état de santé du spectateur, dès que possible.

Fulham ‘s clash with Blackpool has been temporarily suspended due to a medical emergency in the stands at Craven Cottage. The fan who was taken ill is now being taken to hospital and both sets of players have returned to the pitch. The west Londoners were leading 1-0 in the 16th minute when the referee was alerted to an incident in the Hammersmith End. Both club’s medical teams rushed to stand to help, while the two sets of players have been taken off the field of play and medical staff are currently involved with the person who has been taken ill. Fulham tweeted an update on the situation just over half an hour after incident occurred: “The supporter being attended to is being transferred to the hospital. “We’re sending our thoughts and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. We will provide an update on the situation as soon as we have further information. Aleksander Mitrovic had given the hosts an early lead, scoring his 28th goal of the season after a well-worked move.
