The W Champions Cup continued with Gotham FC earning a 2-nil victory against Alianza Women FC on Tuesday in Group B at Estadio Las Delicias in Santa Tecla, El Salvador. Gotham FC broke the deadlock in the 62’, after Linda Guillen committed a foul on Sofia Cook in the penalty area. Geyse stepped up to the penalty spot to convert for the NWSL side. Gotham FC’s second goal came from a set piece in the 90’+4’, a corner kick chance that Kayla Duran did not miss, sending a header to the back of the net to secure back-to-back victories for the U.S. club. Gotham FC will continue its title defense on September 16 when it visits Vancouver Rise FC Academy. Alianza Women FC continue its campaign on September 17 against CF Monterrey Femenil.
