A goal six minutes from full time spared the blushes of the defending Bundesliga champions as visiting bayern scraped a 3-3 draw in a back and forth affair with basement-dwellers Borussiato drop still even more points on the domestic front this season. Germany World Cup fullback Lahml scored his first goal of the season in the 84th minute to salvage a point and avoid complete Blamage (disgrace) for Bayern Munich; after the match, the soon-to-be 27-year-old (Nov 11) with 75 caps for his country lamented the Bavarians have dropped so many points to start the new campaign that, for the defending Bundesliga champions, the title chase may already be over.
After falling behind in the first five minutes from a goal by 19-year-old midfielder Borussia Moenchengladbach Herrman, the visitors stormed back to take complete control. A pair of reserves for Germany at the 2010 World Cup, midfielder Kroos and striker Gomez combined to equalize within six minutes and a starter for Germany in South Africa, Schweinsteiger, sent Bayern Munich to the lead five minutes before the break. However, the defending Bundesliga champions were twice denied by the proverbial woodwork.Which would not come back to haunt Bayern Munich so much as the missed penalty kick by Schweinsteiger, who has been in such excellent scoring form with six goals in all competitions already this season, after the Bavarians had gone ahead just before halftime.
