LigaMX.net reports that three Liga MX teams will have new head coaches for the Apertura coming up in autumn 2024. Not all teams have the luxury of winning titles and having elite coaching. André Jardine and Club América are able to relax, celebrate and enjoy the 2024 Clausura title. Club América has enjoyed much success in the recent past. At least in Liga MX play they are really winning all the time. They now celebrate two straight titles, not to mention the runner up spot in the women's division. With elite talent and coaching there is no reason to believe that the 2024 Apertura will not go through Club América. Club América will have a challenge though. They will be unable to use their regular home this upcoming campaign due to renovations for the World Cup. They are set to play games at other sites such as Cruz Azul's stadium. A new coach will come about in Victor Manuel Vucetich. He will take the reigns for the Mazatlán Futbol Club.
Mazatlán comes off a disappointing season in the Clausura. They finished fourteenth after placing tenth prior to that and making it into the playoffs. Mazatlán also hopes to improve their sixteenth place negative eleven goal differential. José Manuel de la Torre will take over the bench in Puebla. This is a franchise in hopes of new success. They are in dire need of this fresh start. Hopefully José brings light to this organization. Puebla went from sixth to last. They were in obvious need of a new voice at the helm. They managed only one win in seventeen 2024 Clausura matches. The Xolos of Tijuana welcome Juan Carlos Osorio as their new head coach. Tijuana has been a suffering team for some time. Change was a bright idea. Club Tijuana looks to improve in the fall for the 2024 Apertura. In the 2024 Clausura, they finished sixteenth of eighteen. Their only two wins came in the last three games; they took down Juárez and Puebla. Well, Juárez had been at the bottom until recently and Puebla was the last place Club. Look for some changes in play.
Ending a one-year reign as Tigres manager, Robert Siboldi did not have his contract extended following the club's exit from the 2024 Clausura playoffs to city rivals Monterrey. The Uruguayan masterminded Tigres' 2023 Clausura title, beating Chivas 3-2 in the final, bringing a first title in four years to UNAL. However, a new page has been turned and the search for a replacement at the helm is reportedly soon over. AS Mexico broke the news that the club would be willing to replace Siboldi with the man who he beat in that Clausura final, Veljko Paunović.
