Licencié par Lyon en octobre, l'entraîneur néerlandais Peter Bosz a été nommé à la tête du PSV Eindhoven, a annoncé lundi le vice-champion des Pays-Bas. Bosz, 59 ans, a signé un contrat de trois ans et succède à l'ancien international néerlandais Ruud van Nistelrooy, qui a quitté son poste, après une seule saison, fin mai, en déplorant un "manque de soutien au sein du club". "Peter était le candidat idéal", a assuré le directeur sportif du PSV Earnest Stewart, qui l'a côtoyé lorsqu'ils étaient encore tous deux joueurs. "Le PSV et moi avons soif de jouer", a déclaré Bosz, cité dans le communiqué du club qui a remporté cette saison la Coupe et la Supercoupe des Pays-Bas. "La saison dernière, deux titres ont été remportés, mais notre objectif est de devenir champion national. C'est ce que nous recherchons", a-t-il insisté. Bosz a déjà entraîné six équipes différentes aux Pays-Bas, dont Feyernoord (2006-09) et l'Ajax Amsterdam (2016-17) et a connu plusieurs expériences à l'étranger à Dortmund (2017), au Bayer Leverkusen (2018-21) et à Lyon (2021-22), où il a passé un peu plus d'une saison. Le PSV a terminé deuxième du championnat néerlandais l'année dernière, derrière Feyenoord. Son 24e et dernier titre de champion des Pays-Bas remonte à 2018.

As a head coach, he was at the helm of Dutch Eredivisie clubs Vitesse, Heracles Almelo and Ajax. He reached the UEFA Europa League final with the Amsterdam outfit before he continued his career abroad, at Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen and Olympique Lyon, respectively. PSV had extensive talks with Peter Bosz about his football philosophy, his style of play and the first-team squad. The new head coach was pleased with the positive discussions. “I think there will be a good connection between my coaching style and the squad. PSV largely dominated Dutch football for several spells and I am looking forward to reliving that period.”
