A breathless start to this game saw two goals in the opening seven minutes as both sets of defenders struggled to cope with the opposing attacking players. Both Argentine playmakers, Juan Sebastian Veron for Inter and Juan Roman Riquelme for Villarreal, looked in good form as their clever promptings and passing in midfield gave this match a really cultured feel. In truth, Inter dominated large parts of the game and will feel that just the single goal advantage is scant reward for their attacking play.
