Barça Women defender Marta Torrejón is the star of the third episode of the documentary series ‘Dare to Play’. Produced by Barça Studios, the series offers a personal portrait of the Barça Women players: their origins, how they came to the club, their families and their experiences in the world of football, as well as their hobbies and ambitions.
The documentary combines an open chat with the player, born in Mataró (Catalonia), with images and videos from her childhood and career both on and off the field, as well as interviews with her family and friends, who reveal how she has and has not changed both as a person and as a professional footballer. Torrejón looks back, among other anecdotes, at how she became interested in football from an early age and once opened a Christmas present that was a ball, but it turned out that it was not for her … And that made her furious! She also recalls her beginnings, first in a mixed team at school, although she was the only girl, then her time at Espanyol where she was in a boys team before she could play in an all-girls team, and finally her arrival at Barça. The player and her nearest and dearest also talk about some of the highlights of her career, like the final of the first Spanish Women’s SuperCup against Real Sociedad, where she scored four goals.
