Le PSV Eindhoven s'est imposé de la facon la plus courte possible (0-1) face au FC Groningue, en Eredivisie.  L'unique but de la rencontre a été marqué par Mario Götze. Le champion du monde 2014 retrouve un second souffle aux Pays-Bas depuis son départ de Dortmund.  Côté Belge, deux buteurs étaient concernés. Yorbe Vertessen est monté à la 64e minute pour le PSV. Le jeune joueur de 21 ans reste "bloqué" à 6 buts en championnat cette saison. A Groningue, Cyril Ngonge, parti du Club Bruges en 2020, était titulaire et a été remplacé à la 64e minute. Il est 7e du classement des buteurs avec 7 buts, classement où Lois Openda (Vitesse Arnhem) se distingue avec 11 buts et occupe la seconde place.  Le PSV reprend sa place de leader grâce à cette victoire. Groningue est 13e. 

Mario Götze gave PSV Eindhoven the lead at FC Groningen and was delighted with his first Eredivisie goal of the season.  In the Eredivisie game at FC Groningen, the offensive creative spirit ran into the middle in the 10th minute, was served at the right moment by Cody Gakpo and put the ball in from three meters to make it 1-0 for the home side. It stayed that way in the end, which was extremely important for PSV because Ajax Amsterdam won 3-0 at midday at FC Utrecht. RB Leipzig’s loanee Brian Brobbey put together a brace. The big rivals for the title temporarily overtook Eindhoven, but Götze’s decisive goal put the team of German coach Roger Schmidt back one point ahead of Ajax and will go into the direct duel next Sunday (2.30 p.m.) with self-confidence.
