Orlando Pirates came from a goal down to beat already relegated Golden Arrows 3-1 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, securing fourth spot in the Absa Premiership. Arrows caused the first moment of danger with less than a minute played when Rudolph Bester whipped in a dangerous ball into the box which was well cleared by Lucky Lekgwathi. Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa had to react quickly when he punched a Siyanda Zwane cross with just three minutes on the clock. The already relegated side then grabbed an early lead with just five minutes on the clock through Bongi Ntuli who slotted home after latching onto a long ball from Arthur Bartman, to make it 1-0 to the home side.
Pirates then started to take hold of the game as they pushed forward in search of an equaliser, with Kermit Erasmus finally levelling matters on the half-hour mark with a clinical finish into the bottom corner, to make it 1-1. Erasmus came close once more before the half-time interval, but his shot went wide of the target keeping the scores level after the first 45 minutes. Pirates then grabbed the lead just five minutes into the second period with a well worked goal which resulted in Sifiso Myeni poking home after a lovely through ball from Mpho Makola. Mpho Makola added a third for the visitors in the final 15 minutes of play, slotting home from close range to make sure of all three points and secure fourth place. The relegated side were then awarded a penalty when Ntsikelelo Nyauza fouled Ntuli in the area. The striker then dusted himself off to take the spot-kick but it was well saved by Meyiwa before the Arrows player smashed the resulting rebound way over the target, keeping the scores at 3-1 to the Buccaneers.
