With the 1974 competition having been abandoned because 1974 European Champion Clubs' Cup winners FC Bayern München and UEFA Cup Winners' Cup winners 1. FC Magdeburg could find no convenient dates to battle for the trophy, the UEFA Super Cup was revived a year later following Bayern's second successive European Cup win.
Bayern came into the two-legged tie against 1975 Cup Winners' Cup winners FC Dynamo Kyiv as heavy favourites, but inspired by 1975 Golden Ball winner Oleh Blokhin, the Ukraine side pulled off a surprise.
The star player in Valeriy Lobanovskiy's brilliant side, Blokhin won the first leg for Dynamo in Bayern's Olympiastadion on 9 September when he sprinted through from midfield, leaving Bayern's all-star defence standing, to score the only goal of the game after 66 minutes.
Blokhin underlined why he was made Soviet player of the year for the third year in succession in the second leg in Kyiv on 6 October. Well over 100,000 fans saw him beat Sepp Maier in the Bayern goal after 40 minutes, and then again after 53 minutes, to take the Super Cup for Dynamo with a 3-0 aggregate win.
It was to be the pinnacle of the achievement of that great Dynamo squad, who under Lobanovskiy moulded the style of accurate passing play which still holds sway at the stadium that now bears the venerable former coach's name.
Blokhin, meanwhile, became the toast of Europe for a time. Incredibly, he was still playing for Dynamo when they won the Cup Winners' Cup again in 1986.

  1. Hello Rush
спасибо great work you did it with love of your team!!!!

  2. Thanks. I dream of ever again see a full video game in Kiev. However like many other fans. Unfortunately, I only childhood memories. I sincerely hope for a miracle:-)) Nostalgia:-))

At the bottom of the page available photo autographed by Franz Beckenbauer. This autograph Mr. Franz signed in 2008 at the airport in Moscow, after the final of UEFA Champions League between Manchester United and Chelsea. I was surprised to see him, humbly stands in the corner of the VIP-room. All chairs and sofas were busy singing and happy fans MU and Chelsea. Kaiser Franz was, as always, responsive, although the time was about 5 o'clock in the morning. He is a Great Player, Great Coach and very sociable and kind person. For your post is another picture:
