Unbeaten runs will be on the line when Gamba Osaka host Bangkok United in the first leg of their AFC Champions League Two semi-final on Wednesday. apan's Gamba progressed to the last four stage on the back of a 10-match unbeaten run while Bangkok United's march into the semi-finals was aided by going undefeated in their last four continental matches.  Gamba will fancy their chances of taking a healthy advantage into next week's return leg with the Japanese side one of the favourites to go all the way. They cruised into the Round of 16 with a perfect record of six wins and showed their quality in fending off the challenge of former Asian champions Pohang Steelers of Korea Republic with a 3-2 win on aggregate. 

They needed extra-time to defeat Thailand's Ratchaburi FC in the quarter-finals, advancing 3-2 on aggregate and they grit displayed will give them confidence against a Bangkok side they will be meeting for the first time. Bangkok endured a more challenging journey into the semi-finals, advancing to the knockout stage after finishing second in Group G with three wins, a draw and two losses. They rose to the occasion in the first leg of the Round of 16, cruising to a 2-0 win against Macarthur FC and then held the Australian side 2-2 in the away fixture. Another resolute performance in the quarter-finals saw them brushing off the challenge of Singapore's Tampines Rovers, winning 4-3 on aggregate and if Bangkok can minimise Gamba's threat on Wednesday, the Thai side will be optimistic of completing the job at home next week.
