Parce que son Canada s’est rassuré, dimanche, en l’emportant face aux Américains dans le match pour la troisième place de la Ligue des nations . « Je suis vraiment fier de ce groupe », a relevé Mauro Biello, adjoint de Marsch, qui a pris sa place en conférence de presse. « On les a vus grandir dans les 11 derniers mois. On est vraiment contents d’avoir eu la victoire aujourd’hui. »


 Canada won 2-1 against the United States in the Third Place Match of the 2025 Concacaf Nations League Finals on Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, USA. The Reds were forced to make an early change, with team captain Alphonso Davies coming off due to injury in the 12’ for Niko Sigur. Matt Turner managed a few turbulent moments for the U.S. in the 22’ that originated from a shot towards goal by Ismaël Koné. Tani Oluwaseyi struck the opening goal in the 27’ to place Canada in front, opening his international tally in the process. The goal came from the edge of the six-yard box as Jonathan David’s attempt deflected off the legs of U.S. defender Mark McKenzie.Patrick Agyemang equalized for the United States in the 35’ to collect his first goal in Concacaf Nations League play. Diego Luna provided the assist inside the penalty area, laying a short pass for Agyemang to place the finishing touch.Jonathan David retook the lead for Canada in the 59’, striking inside the box with a left-footed curler to place the finish on a recovered ball in the final third. Diego Luna had a look from close range for the United States in the 85’ but was denied by Canada goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair.Max Arfsten attempted the last U.S. chance of the second half in the 90’+4 as the attempt to tie the match continued. The victory gives Canada its first third-place finish and second-best in the competition. The U.S. finished fourth place, its lowest-ever finish in the tournament, after winning the first three editions.
