Coach Peter Schöttel set up his team in a 4-2-3-1 formation for the heavyweight clash against RB Salzburg. Sonnleitner and Patocka formed the centre back pairing for the first time Trimmel and Drazan were deployed wide while Steffen Hofmann was played just off lone striker Guido Burgstaller.Katzer gets the show up and runningThe Hütteldorfer's flew out of the blocks and beat the visitors back deep into their own half.  Maierhofer scored a consolation for the visitors on his return to the Hanappi, but the goal did little to dampen enthusiasm or to hide the fact that his side had been comprehensively beaten at the superior team on the day.
