'Form goes out the window in this one', that's the old cliche pundits often trot out ahead of Glasgow's day of days. And, do you know what? It used to be true. But that trope falls down when you factor in Brendan Rodgers. The Celtic boss has now won 15, drawn 3 and lost only once against Rangers. Goals from Daizen Maeda, Kyogo Furuhashi, and captain Callum McGregor secured another dominant derby victory for the hosts who continued their stellar start to the season. Maeda's first goal, that came after a Kyogo strike had initially been ruled out for offside, was a composed finish, swept in on the end of a smart Alistair Johnston cutback. Kyogo then got his goal with a well-placed shout from outside of the area but captain McGregor scored yet another long-range strike this season to wrap up the three points. A win for Philippe Clement and Co would have been season-altering but outwith a strong opening 10 minutes, the visitors rarely threatened to trouble Kasper Schmeichel until a few late chances that the keeper dealt with well. The Rangers manager has spoken about his squad being in the process of a rebuild but they looked far behind their title rivals and fans are demanding answers.
Merci
