Christine Sinclair won’t be playing in Paris this summer. But in Portland, she still knows how to put on a show. The Canadian soccer icon scored the opening goal in a 5-0 win for the Portland Thorns in the opening game of the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup against Club Tijuana. The Thorns wasted no time in getting on the scoreboard, as Sinclair skillfully chipped the ball into an open net just four minutes into the match. Additional goals Olivia Wade-Katoa, Izzy D’Aquila, Ana Dias, Marissa Sheva and a shutout performance from Emily Alvarado put the match away for Portland.
