Les matchs contre des adversaires coréens n'ont pas été fructueux pour Yokohama ces derniers temps, avec un nul et cinq défaites lors de leurs six dernières rencontres. Avant la défaite 1-0 à Ulsan la semaine dernière, l'équipe de J1 League avait également été battue à domicile et à l'extérieur par les débutants du tournoi Incheon United en phase de groupes, bien qu'elle ait réussi à remporter ses quatre autres matchs pour se qualifier. Lors de la phase de groupes 2022, Marinos a perdu un et a fait match nul contre Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, tandis qu'en 2020, ils ont été éliminés par Suwon Samsung Bluewings en huitièmes de finale.

It’s an unwanted record they need to break if they are to progress to their first AFC Champions League final. As Ulsan prepare to visit Yokohama International Stadium for the second leg on Wednesday, head coach Harry Kewell will need to mastermind a way past opposition from a country that has caused his predecessors Kevin Muscat and Ange Postecoglou plenty of problems.
