Second consecutive match at the Tardini and second consecutive victory for the Crociati. Against a Cittadella that proved to be a tough opponent, especially in the first half, Pecchia’s Parma took the lead almost immediately: the referee, Ghersini, pointed to the spot after just 12 seconds following Kastrati’s foul on Partipilo as he latched onto a long ball from Chichizola (headed on by Benedyczak). After VAR confirmed the decision, Benedyczak made no mistake from the spot, 1-0 Parma. The visitors grew into the game but the Crociati defended well, making it to half-time with the lead. Begić and Bernabé joined the proceedings in the second half and made an instant impact. Begić turned beautifully, nutmegging his marker and sliding the ball across to Adrian who curled his left-footed finish into the far right corner. A good display of organisation at the back, a few counter-attacks from our side and Cittadella limited themselves to collecting corner kicks, without really troubling Chichizola’s goal. 2-0 fulltime, now onwards to Tuesday’s match in Pisa at the Arena Garibaldi.
