Brisbane’s resurgence since the return of Katrina Gorry has continued with the Matildas midfielder scoring twice in the Roar’s 2-0 A-League Women win over Newcastle. A first victory of the season secured against Western Sydney last week and goals in both halves on Friday from Gorry ensured Brisbane kept on rolling at Newcastle’s No. 2 Sportsground. For the Jets, however, it was a third defeat in a row and they have now conceded 18 times this season five clear of the next most porous defence.
