Goals from Thapelo Maseko and Bradley Grobler earned Matsatsantsa the victory over Masandawana who grabbed a consolation goal through Abubeker Nasir as the Ethiopian star made it three goals from as many matches in a game which was played at Lucas Moripe Stadium. Marcelo Allende and Nasir were rewarded with starting berths after coming off the bench to score as Sundowns secure a 2-0 win over SuperSport on Sunday. Masandawana were eyeing their third consecutive victory across all competitions. On the other hand, SuperSport were boosted by the return of Thapelo Maseko from injury with the 19-year-old attacker having missed Sunday's match. Matsatsantsa were hoping to record their first win over Sundowns since 2019.
