C'est vraiment incroyable, vraiment excitant. Je suis impatiente. Tout le monde est en forme, c'est le plus important d'avoir les meilleures joueuses disponibles. Je suis vraiment heureuse de cela, mais j'ai un choix difficile à faire. Nous avons montré que nous avons une très bonne équipe avec de la profondeur et c'est bien que nous devions faire des choix difficiles.

C'est une sensation vraiment chouette. C'est incroyable, c'est un beau stade et le terrain est parfait. Je suis très enthousiaste à l'idée de participer au match d'ouverture. Je pense que la préparation s'est bien passée, sauf pour la blessure de Maria Plattner et l'absence de Lisa Kolb.  Nous avons travaillé très dur et avec beaucoup d'intensité et nous espérons une très bonne performance. Je pense, sans aucun doute, que l'Angleterre dominera le match, mais nous voulons leur rendre la tâche aussi difficile que possible. Nous voulons montrer ce que nous pouvons faire avec le ballon et faire les bons choix dans les 30 derniers mètres pour marquer.

England will walk out to a packed Old Trafford when they get Women's Euro 2022 underway against Austria on Wednesday night and the in-form hosts should get their tournament off to a winning start. England are 4/1 second favourites (behind Spain) to go all the way to international glory and their preparation could hardly have gone smoother. If England's form going into this is any reliable guide then an opening win looks a formality. The Lionesses have thumped reigning Euro champions the Netherlands 5-1, Belgium 3-0 and Switzerland 4-0 in their three prep matches for this tournament and confidence in the camp looks sky high. The Lionesses will be led by Sarina Wiegman who took the Netherlands to glory on home soil in 2017 and many believe the former Dutch coach now has an England squad capable of repeating the trick in 2022. .

Austria were a surprise package in Euro 2017 - their first appearance in a major tournament - where they made the semi-finals, and Irene Fuhrmann's side caused England quite a few problems when these teams met in a November World Cup qualifier, but an Ellen White strike ultimately made the difference on the night. Austria go into this game as underdogs but they might not be the pushovers the outright match odds imply. With a tricky game against Norway next up for England, it's imperative that they get off to a good start in this tournament but don't be surprised if the Austrians contribute significantly to this opening clash. Austria, whose attack is spearheaded by Hoffenheim striker Nicole Billa, have got on the scoresheet in each of their last eight matches in all competitions and three of their last matches have gone over 3.5 goals. Over 3.5 goals is a 5/4 chance with Betfred and that rates a fair punt but a more appealing wager is the 9/5 about an England win and both teams to score.
