It was a Klassiker that was dramatic until the every end! In our third match of the ADMIRAL Bundesliga championship group, super sub Zlatko Junuzovic struck in stoppage time at a sold-out Red Bull Arena with an attendance of over 15,000 to seal a richly deserved 2-1 win against Rapid Vienna. We therefore remain 12 points in front at the top of the table, with the league title in our sights! There was no sign of attacking pressure or high pressing from the visitors. Rapid were happy to sit deep and try to threaten with long balls. We wanted to force our way through them. Our first good moment came in the sixth minute as Luka Sucic tried to convert a dangerous ball in from Noah Okafor in acrobatic fashion. A little while later, Junior Adamu (13') leapt up to meet an Andreas Ulmer cross with a diving header but sent it off-target.

It came to Sucic again in the 17th minute. Noah Okafor took the ball forward with pace and turned it onto the Croat. He took the ball in full gallop but still managed to lodge it superbly into the bottom corner of the net from a good 20 metres out – Niklas Hedl dived at full stretch but was unable to prevent us taking a 1-0 lead! The Viennese side failed to threaten throughout the first period, with the Green and Whites having a meagre 0.08 expected goals to show at the break. Marco Grüll (27') did have a shot from a relatively good position following a free-kick, but sent it well off-target. We kept in control and continued to press. Okafor kept on troubling the opponents with his speedy bursts forward, and Adamu had some good opportunities. With a little precision in our finishing lacking and Hedl in form in the Rapid goal, we had just a 1-0 lead at half-time.

The second half began in a similar fashion. Nici Seiwald had the first chance of the second period as he curled the ball close to the opposing target in the 48th minute. Then all of a sudden, the equaliser came. A dangerous ball was sent in from the left and it landed at Ferdy Druijf, who just had to turn it in for 1-1. The game became more heated and physical. Rapid were now able to find more space, although we had the better chances.  Good opportunities came to Nicolas Capaldo (56'), Okafor (58') and Sucic (61'), while Rapid's Christoph Knasmüllner sent fear throughout the stadium with a goal from an offside position (60'). It was truly frantic stuff, although with 20 minutes to go it quietened down a little - at least for a brief while.

We kept on pushing until the end as we sensed the chance to seal three points, but it was looking like it would not come. Then Zlatko Junuzovic stepped onto the stage after so many months out injured. Adeyemi crossed the ball into the area from the left, and Rasmus Kristensen beat two defenders to poke the ball on goal. It ended up bouncing in front of Sladdi, who slid in to make it 2-1 - and the Austrian Klassiker ended in incredible style!
