The 2012/13 season was a good one for Kaizer Chiefs, not only did they clinch their first league title in eight years, but they also completed the double in Stuart Baxter’s first season with the club.

Bernard Parker scored an extra-time winner for the Glamour Boys as they stopped SuperSport United from retaining the trophy, sealing victory after they’d beaten off the likes of Bloemfontein Celtic and Bidvest Wits to get there.This edition of the competition was also the one that saw Maluti FET College claim a famous victory over Orlando Pirates, hitting four past the Buccaneers in a shock Round of 32 win.Itumeleng Khune, who had a stellar 2012/13 campaign, won the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament, while Platinum Stars’ Tshepo Gumede walked away with the Most Promising Player of the Tournament.
