FOCUS ON : Paul McStay Story

There were more successful Celtic players than Paul McStay. Even his own great uncle, Willie McStay, played in more title-winning teams. His other great uncle, Jimmy McStay, had more Scottish Cup wins with the club. But there was only one maestro. McStay is a singular figure in Celtic’s history. For much of the 1990s, he was the link to the past not only through his family but also having made his Celtic debut under Billy McNeill and his Scotland debut under Jock Stein. McStay was a title winner under McNeill, under Davie Hay, and then under McNeill again. But he also became an emblem during the darker days that followed.
