 In January, Milan recorded a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Bari in the Round of 16 of Coppa Italia. Zlatan Ibrahimovic opened the scoring as early as the 19th minute and on the stroke of half-time Alexander Merkel doubled the advantage. Then 20 minutes into the second half Robinho wrapped up the win.

Massimiliano Allegri: “I won’t let Bari’s position in the standings deceive me. You have to win these games on the field and it won’t be easy as it hasn’t been for other teams. Bari did well both against Lazio in Rome and against Udinese and lost undeservedly. Their main strengths are quickness and technique. There are no easy games in Serie A. We’ll need to approach the match the right way and play a great game. 9 matches are left until the end of the championship and we have some difficult games to play. The only thing that matters is getting the three points to extend our lead ahead of Inter. We haven’t won the title yet, there’s still a long way to go. We must keep winning starting with tomorrow’s game and then we’ll have a whole week to prepare for the trip to Palermo. As for the starting line-up for tomorrow, I still have some doubts regarding the full-back position. Pato will start in attack, this is for sure. I’m pleased with how the team approaches games and we’re also working well at Milanello during the week”.
