As the black-and-blue storm raged on Trieste, Atalanta U23 walked off the Nereo Rocco stadium with the full three points, a 5-1 walkover against Triestina and their second consecutive away win. While Panada, Vavassori and Vlahović (the night's hat-trick hero) hogged the scoring spotlight, Scheffer spared no time and topped off the team's roaring success with a key pass on his substitute debut.

In his post-game interview, coach Francesco Modesto commented the win over Triestina as follows: "The lads approached the game with the right attitude, showing courage and zeal to spare. These games are the epitome of their willingness to work and improve day in and day out. Nonetheless, we shouldn't rest on our laurels, but rather striving to do better and shifting the focus on the next game pronto". "Their performance has been stunningly flawless, from each and every one of them: they went toe to toe and with a team built to win this tournament. By showing the right oujtlook ever since stepping feet on the pitch, the lads have eventually achieved a major feat".  “Thet have been absolutely amazing thanks to their unapologetic and carefree stance, coupled with their one desire to play football and to play well. Despite being a new group, they look like they've been playing together for ages. And that's something truly special. Which makes working with my staffing, with our director Gatti and with all the lads all the more enjoyable.
