Mexico will open their Gold Cup title defense on June 5 against El Salvador, and all signs point to a strong opener for El Tri. However, this match against Venezuela will be Mexico's second-to-final warm-up test before Mexico begins their Gold Cup run in Dallas. Venezuela isn't the experience team Paraguay was but are a tricky South American nation nevertheless. Mexico will get a decent challenge from to Vinotinto at Qualcomm Stadium as the way the team looks under manager Jose Manuel De La Torre continues to develop and evolve.
